Creating communities of people who come together to help and support each other
1 in 4 people will experience mental health problems In their lifetime. It does not discriminate and affects people of all ages, genders, ethnicities and walks of life.
We offer ongoing peer support groups, activities, events, complementary therapies, resources, talking therapies and the latest interventions / recommendations as they arise. The aim of the group is to help prevent an individual from reaching crisis by allowing them to access all of the above as opposed to being isolated and alone.
Our long term aim is to see Mental Health Friends groups start everywhere, to create a national community of people who come together and support each other with their mental health.
I founded Mental Health Friends Brackley Group on the 22nd February 2019, after a long battle with Depression and Social Anxiety and realising how talking about my struggles with fellow sufferers helped me.
My friend Emma has since joined me to help with our local Peer Support Group and Facebook page.
In August, I registered with “Rethink Mental Illness” to offer peer support groups, however, Mental Health Friends will remain totally independent. I am available to answer your questions or provide any assistance you may need.

We have a growing number of members, our community group forms a strong and reliable network. This allows us to advocate in the local community and work directly with the people we support.
We pursue close relationships with mental health specialists and charities to reach out as early as possible to offer assistance.
